Size & details

Size: 45″ × 73″ (115 × 185 cm) relaxed, after washing · 63″ × 83″ (160 × 210 cm) stretched flat. A personal blanket for one adult, shoulders to toes: one for your side of the bed, one for theirs. The relaxed size is measured lying flat after a wash and dry. Size guide

Material: 100% cotton, 6 layers of cotton gauze (muslin). Imported.

Color: A soft, dusty light blue, never navy.

In the box: your blankets, folded, in one tracked parcel, with a welcome card that says “One to keep · One to give” and has the care instructions on the back.

Care

How to wash: Machine wash warm (max 40°C / 104°F), gentle cycle · Tumble dry low or line dry · No bleach · Low iron. Gets softer with every wash. The crinkle is part of the design.

First wash: Wash it on its own the first time. A little lint is normal and settles down after a wash or two.

Good to know: Open-weave gauze can catch on rough nails, rings and pet claws.

The same instructions are on the card in your parcel.

What is muslin?

What muslin means today. Today, “muslin” means a simple, loosely woven cotton. Ours is a modern version: 6 layers of cotton gauze, crinkled and stitched into one blanket. It isn't the legendary hand-spun Dhaka cloth, and we'd never pretend it is.

Why we chose it for people who sleep hot: Breathable, open weave (light shows through it against a window) · Light, never heavy · 100% cotton fabric, no polyester in the fabric.

SIZE & FIT

Sized Honestly, Measured Two Ways

Gauze is crinkled on purpose, so it has two sizes: about 45″ × 73″ (115 × 185 cm) as it lies on a bed after a wash and dry, and 63″ × 83″ (160 × 210 cm) pulled flat at the corners. We list both, relaxed first, so there are no surprises.

It's a personal blanket for one adult: on a queen (60″ × 80″) it covers one sleeper's side, shoulders to toes.

As it lies: 45″ × 73″ (115 × 185 cm) Pulled flat: 63″ × 83″ (160 × 210 cm)

Twin mattress, 38″ × 75″: the blanket covers the full width and 73 of 75 inches lengthwise. Full mattress, 54″ × 75″: the blanket covers 45 of 54 inches across and 73 of 75 inches lengthwise. Queen mattress, 60″ × 80″: the blanket covers 45 of 60 inches across and 73 of 80 inches lengthwise. King mattress, 76″ × 80″: the blanket covers 45 of 76 inches across and 73 of 80 inches lengthwise.

MATERIALS

Six Layers of 100% Cotton Gauze

Each blanket is six layers of loosely woven cotton gauze, stitched together and crinkled on purpose. That open weave is what makes it breathable: against a bright window, daylight shows through it. There's no polyester in the fabric, so nothing feels slippery or plasticky.

THE PROCESS

How Your Blanket Is Made

  • Raw cotton bolls beside cones of undyed cotton yarn

    It Starts With Cotton

Cotton fiber is spun into a fine, soft yarn. The fabric is 100% cotton, with no polyester and no blends.
  • Fine cotton yarn running into light gauze on a loom

    Gauze weaving, illustrated

    Woven Six Layers Deep

The yarn is woven into airy gauze, then six layers are stitched into one blanket. It's light, with more body than a sheet.
  • Three folded blankets, Sky Blue, Sand and Blush, on an inspection table

    Finished, Checked and Packed

Each blanket is finished and checked, then packed for its trip to you.

Made by a specialist cotton-gauze mill.

SHEET, BLANKET OR COMFORTER?

The Layer in Between

Frequently Asked Questions

How big is it, really?

It has two sizes. As it lies on your bed after a wash and dry: about 45″ × 73″ (115 × 185 cm). Pulled flat at the corners: 63″ × 83″ (160 × 210 cm). We list both, relaxed first. See the size guide

Is it big enough for two people?

No, and we'd rather say so up front. It's a personal blanket for one adult: about 45″ × 73″ (115 × 185 cm) as it lies on your bed (63″ × 83″ (160 × 210 cm) pulled flat), so on a queen it covers one sleeper's side, shoulders to toes. That's why the offer is two blankets: one for your side of the bed, one for theirs, both for A$130. See the size guide

Is it thin? How warm is it?

It's light on purpose: six layers of open-weave cotton gauze. Against a bright window, daylight shows through the weave; that's the breathable part. On the bed it looks and feels like a soft, textured blanket, not a sheet. It isn't a comforter either. Want more warmth? Layer it under your comforter.

Is it good for hot sleepers?

It's made for people who sleep warm but still want to be covered. It isn't a cooling gadget, and it won't change your body temperature. It's simply breathable, lightweight cotton, with no heavy fill and no polyester in the fabric. That way you can stay covered without piling on weight. On warm nights, use it as your only cover.

When will my order arrive?

Orders usually ship within 0–2 business days. Delivery takes 6–13 business days from your order, with tracking (longer around public holidays); in December, allow up to 18 business days. Your price includes all duties and import fees, so there is nothing to pay at delivery.

What if I don't like it?

You're covered by our 30-Night Comfort Guarantee. Try it for 30 nights. If it isn't right for you, email us within 30 nights of delivery and we'll refund everything you paid. No need to send it back. One guarantee refund per customer. Email support@hotsleeperclub.com with your order number. You never have to ship anything back: keep the blankets, gift them or donate them.

How does Buy 1, Get 1 Free work? Can I mix colors?

Choose “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” and two blankets go in your cart. One of them comes off automatically, so you pay A$130 for both (A$65 each). Choose “Buy 2, get 2 free!” for four blankets at A$260. You can pick a different color for each blanket. The crossed-out price is simply what they'd cost at our single-blanket price of A$130 each. If you remove one blanket from a pair, the other goes back to A$130. Offer terms

How do I wash it? Will it shrink?

Machine wash warm (max 40°C / 104°F), gentle cycle · Tumble dry low or line dry · No bleach · Low iron. Gets softer with every wash. The crinkle is part of the design. Wash it on its own the first time; a little lint in the first wash or two is normal. The relaxed size we list is how it lies after a wash and dry, so the first wash is already allowed for. The same instructions are on the card in your parcel.

Is it really 100% cotton?

Yes. The fabric is 100% cotton, six layers of cotton gauze, with no polyester and no blends. The sewn label says 100% cotton, and so do we.
